Ultrasound Day!

Today was my 20 week developmental ultrasound. I was a little nervous going in, as I am 19 weeks and when I had this same ultrasound with Bee at 18 weeks they couldn't see her heart. It was very stressful to have to go in for another ultrasound at 20 weeks, find out they STILL couldn't see her heart (worried momma at that point!!), and needed another ultrasound at 24 weeks. I really wanted to know our baby's gender too. That was another thing they were not certain about until the third ultrasound with Brianna. Granted, that was a different clinic, and an ultrasound tech. This was with a doctor-which surprised me, as I've always had a tech running the machine. Turns out baby's doing great. Developmentally, right on track for the estimated gestational age. The doc did say that judging by today's measurements, the machine gave me a June 20th due date, which is close enough to my previous June 24th date to not change baby's due date. That entertains me, as my birthday is the 22nd. Right in the middle. Maybe I'll get the ultimate birthday gift! I had planned on posting beautiful ultrasound photos to announce baby's gender, but they were out of CDs (I'll get one next appointment). I uninstalled and reinstalled my printer/copier/scanner, but it won't scan the photos I received. sigh. I guess I'll just have to add those to a later post and tell you all we are having a healthy, wonderful baby boy! We have had the perfect name selected for this little one since before Gracie was born, but Daddy wishes for it to remain a secret until he joins us in June. So if you are one of the few that know, SHHH! We are very excited for our little boy to complete our family.

Kissie Face

This is Bee's kissie face. At bedtime I'll tell her it's time to get a kissie from Daddy and Gracie and she'll make this face as she runs across the whole apartment looking for them. She also does it randomly throughout the day whenever she wants a kiss from someone. Too cute!

Boy? Girl?

I don't know if you've noticed the new(ish) ticker on the side of this blog, but we are expecting our third little one at the end of June. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster as we try to wrap our heads around the idea of a larger family. Now that the Christmas season is over and Daddy isn't working as much we are trying to iron out the logistics of being a family of five.

Our apartment is definately too small for five-heck, it's too small for four! We did talk to the landlord, though, and she said that if our lease is signed before the baby is born we're fine. If the baby is born first, we'll have to move-either to a three bedroom in the same complex or to another location entirely. We have started the house hunting process officially-even looked at a house together last week. It's the first time Daddy has ever looked at a house with me, despite this being my third time beginning the process. We're pretty sure it'll take us longer than this summer to find the right house, though. We're trying to keep our expenses down so most of the houses we are looking at are foreclosures or short sales, which can take 6 weeks-6 months to hear a response about after making an offer.

Our other big concern is vehicles. We decided to keep our sedan and buy a larger SUV or Mini Van type vehicle next fall, when I go back to work. The next day there was a snowstorm and Daddy got into an accident. Thankfully, he is ok, no one else was involved in the accident, and the kids were not in the car. Unfortunately, the car is totalled. We can make it drivable to get by until fall (or it becomes a Flintstones car!), but were debating on that for a little while. I think we will though.

I had an apointment last night and my doctor "predicted" the baby's gender based on the heartbeat. At a strong 140's rate, she is predicting that it will be . . . a. . . boy! We shall (hopefully) find out for sure on January 31st, when we have our developmental ultrasound. As Daddy put it, "a boy would be nice, but I make darn good girls!"

Winter Fun

Grandma and I took Gracie out for some winter fun earlier this week. We started with sledding. For some reason, she doesn't like going fast. We just walked her up and down Grandma's street.

Then we made a snowman. The snow wouldn't mold, so we got a shovel and found some big chunks to stack.

Nana got the girls a snowman kit with wooden pieces and a scarf to add to the snow.

Gracie had a lot of fun pushing the wooden pieces into our snowman.

While Grandma went inside to get a hat for him, Gracie made her first snow angel.

She instsed his heart should be upside down.

Gracie & her man.

Finally, Grandma gave her a shovel ride back to the house.
