Seeds to Sow

Over spring break I got very ambitious. In addition to all of the fun activities Gracie and I did, I bought her the supplies to have our own flowers on our patio. Unfortunately (at the time), I didn't read the back of the package very carefully and once I got home I realized that the daisies I picked out are meant to be planted in May. At the zoo the other day, Gracie planted some sunflower seeds in a dixie cup and really enjoyed it so I thought she may be ready. Although it's not quite May, I'm thinking it's close enough.

Beauty Parlor

Carrie came over after the zoo, and we had a lot more fun. We played on the playground, painted, and took a bath. Of course, after every bath there must be some primping. . .

So pretty!

Farm Babies

The Minnesota Zoo is hosting "Farm Babies" until the end of the month, so a group of us got together to check it out. Carrie, Carrie, Derek, Kylie, Tony, Elara, Great Grandma Iris, Gracie, Brianna, and I had a lot of fun seeing animals and even petting some of them. We all had cameras at different times, so once we collaborate on pics, I may post more.

We put Gracie and Elara in the double stroller, and they had fun passing Teddy Grahams and Goldfish to each other.

Laundry

While at the doctor on Monday, I asked her about Gracie's skin. She has an odd sandpapery texture to her belly and sides that comes and goes. As suspected, the doc said she is probably having a minor reaction to the perfumes that are in soaps. So now I am re-washing all of the girls' clothes with All Free. Maybe by next week I'll be out from under this pile-If you don't hear from me in a week seek help.

She also gave me a couple of tips that I though I'd share and save you all the trip to the doc! She said she put baby oil in her kids' bath water and although it is perfumed, their skin was softer when she started doing that. While talking with my MIL about it, she also recommended using Olive Oil, which is completely natural and has no perfumes that could irritate baby's skin. With summer coming, I was concerned about sun screen, and she said nothing in sun screen is proven to irritate the skin, but it should be put on about a half hour before exposure. It takes that long to fully activate. I had no idea!
