Gracie and I played with Oobleck today. It was our first experience with the goop, and she LOVED it! I honestly think out of all the Toddler Activities we've tried, this is her favorite so far. She played with it for over an hour! Even then, I had a little trouble getting her to the tub to clean up. If you plan on trying this-which I highly recommend-don't put food coloring in it. One of the web sites I found about it said it's more fun with color so I put blue coloring in it and now Gracie and I could pass for having a bit of Smurf DNA in us.

Jodi, so glad she had fun with the Oobleck! Yay for fun Saturdays at home with toddlers :) I never know if I love playing with it more or the kids :) If you want to add color maybe next time add a bit of tempera paint or liquid water color paint instead of food coloring, they don't tend to stain like food coloring. I haven't ever colored it when I've done it....but the blue really does look pretty cool, esp in pictures, next time I am going to try color.
You are such a brave mommy. You must work with children. :)
Funny, Erin. This stuff is actually great because it dries up really quickly and can be vacuumed up; and it washes out of clothes. Just don't put food coloring in it! I bet SJ would love it as much as Gracie did! Maybe another thing for when you're more 'mobile.' :)
FYI, After looking at other websites about Oobleck, I discovered I put WAY too much food coloring in. I was supposed to use two drops, and I used about ten! That'll do it!
