Gracie had her two year well child checkup on Thursday. Just as we thought, she is a healthy little girlie! She is now 27 pounds (50th percentile) and 33 1/2" tall (45th percentile). I'm amazed that after starting life at the 25th percentile and remaining there throughout infancy she has already grown to average size for her age. She took her one vaccination like a champ, but did have one meltdown during the appointment. It was before the doctor came in, when Daddy needed to use the restroom. She figured out where he was going and wanted to go with. I took her hand to keep her in the room when she threw herself to the ground in a temper tantrum (a new habit that WILL stop quickly, momma is NOT having it!). After that, she was holding her elbow and whining a lot. This happened one other time, and we were at Daddy's parents' house. His mom is a nurse and recognized the behavior as possibly having her elbow dislocated. Seeing similar behavior, I had the doctor look at it. Sure enough, he popped it back into place. She was sore the next day, but is back to herself now. I do feel the need to warn other parents, though. The first time it happened, I was picking her up by her arms (as many parents do). It is heart wrenching to see my child in pain because of something I did. I am so careful to always hold her by her bicep if I am trying to restrain her now.

who knew...so does that mean she can't do flips off your lap anymore?
Oh my goodness! I'm so glad you said something to the doctor!
You're an awesome mom, Jodi. Keep up the good work!
Carrie, flips don't seem to bother her, but she's started to prefer summersaults anyway. I don't encourage the lap flipping anymore, that's for sure!
Erin, Thanks!
