Amazing
It completely amazes me that after three and a half months of being a mother I can still gaze at Gracie and feel like I am simply the luckiest person in the world. Thank you, God, for trusting me with this little precious girl.

Countin' The Hairs
As we left the apartment for Brian's softball game tonight, Brian and I were looking at Gracie and talking about how amazingly blessed we are. He smiled and said (jokingly) "Yeah, you know God took his time and gave us a good one-imagine how long it took just to count all her hairs! Some babies He rushes through, and sends out bald, but not ours!"

12 Weeks
Gracie turned 12 weeks this past Sunday, and will be three months old Monday, the 9th. I figured this would be a good time to give you all an update on her accomplishments.
She has managed to get on a pretty good routine, which makes us all happy! She gets up around 5:30 a.m. and I feed her and put her back to sleep until she wakes up Daddy around 8 or 9 a.m. He feeds her again around 10ish and they usually go out somewhere-he loves showing her off! By the time I get home from work, she is usually about to finish her nap and eat. We spend the evening playing and trying to get some Tummy Time in ( she hates Tummy Time!). I start putting her down for the night around 8:30 p.m. and she's in the bassinet by 9:30. She has been sleeping through the night for the last three weeks.
She and Daddy made up a new game yesterday that she seems to love. He holds her up on his lap and every time she kicks he makes a rocket sound and shoots her in the air. She gets the biggest smile on her face looking down at Daddy!
Last week she found her thumb for the first time. She was crying and stopped suddenly. When I looked down she was sucking hard on that little thumb. She hasn't gotten the concept of folding her other fingers though, so she usually ends up with a finger or two in her eye or nose, which just makes it more adorable.
She hasn't mastered rolling over without Daddy's help, but does kick a lot during Tummy Time. Her head is strong, and barely bobbles anymore. We tried the Bumbo chair once, but she wasn't in a good mood, so it didn't go over well. We'll try again soon, I'm sure. We've added the toy bar to her bouncy chair, and she has grabbed the toys but isn't strong enough to pull them yet (when they are pulled, the bird in the middle spins, which scared her the first time, but makes her smile now). She is full of smiles, and is very good natured. We are having so much fun watching her grow, although I must admit I was a bit glum when already packing away clothes that she has outgrown! She's getting so big.
