One Year Check Up

Gracie had her one year doctor exam today. She hasn't grown much, and the doc is starting to be a little concerned. She actually told daddy no more water, whole milk for Gracie! She is now 15 pounds, 4 ounces and 27 inches long. She has to go back to baby food and eat lots of stage three foods to fatten up a bit. She will have another check up in about a month to see if she has started gaining at all.

Once she starts the whole milk, she'll start to bulk up!!! Hunter never was one for formula, whole milk is a whole different story!! Just be prepared for some nasty diapers (until her system gets used to it!)

Try ripe avocado too....it's like 70% monosaturated fat. Just be careful about not into cutting into the pit.

How does she place on the height weight curve? They told us as long as Lauren maintained her own curve (below the normal line) not to worry. Also told us that as long a development skills were on time, not to worry.

We tried the fatten her up thing for a couple of months. Didn't do a thing.

Hopefully it helps. We have tried to give Emma whole milk, but she isn't a fan of it ... but will keep trying. She went into the doctor this past Monday because she had pink eye ... she was 21 pounds 9 ounces, I guess she is a big girl :) I know that Emma will eat custard and yogurt too ... maybe you can try some of that on on Gracie as well.

Honestly, I'm not too worried about it. She's healthy! She is laughing and having a blast. If she was sick, she wouldn't be. We started the whole milk, and after fighting off a stomach bug, she has really taken to the milk. She often won't nurse anymore, instead points to her sippy cup of milk! If she's awake, she's eating. I'm not going to introduce a bunch of unhealthy eating habits to get her fat, and then have us all unable to break those habits and get into even more trouble for having an obese baby!
