Memorial Day

We had some family over for Memorial Day. At one point I looked over at Grandpa, and he had the girls perched like the picture below and Jerry in his lap, reading to all three of them. Of course, by the time I got my camera out and turned on Jerry had lost interest and wandered off. The best part? He's reading them La La Loopsy's Cinder Slippers. 

I guess Cinder Slippers was too girly, Jerry headed off to read his own story.

Spring Yard Work

We started to try and mend our backyard. The previous owners of our house had two labs, which tore up the backyard, Maple tree, and all the woodwork in our house. Last summer we had a challenge to keep the house clean with all the mud and dirt getting tracked into the house from the backyard. I planted grass this year, and the kids helped to get the seeds tilled into the ground. 

This is the corner of the yard to the right of our deck. It is now flourishing with super thick grass!

Our yard was all as bare as the images of tilling the ground. This is what it looks like now! I still have some spots to fill, but it is so much better!

5K Fun Run/Walk

One of my schools hosts a fun run/walk every spring. I went to the first two but didn't get far as I had a newborn at the first one and was pregnant with Jerry (and pushing both girls) for the second one. I missed last year because of grad school and was disappointed that this year was scheduled on Daddy's birthday. He ended up getting scheduled to work this morning, so I was able to bring the kids after all. They were so excited to go to Momma's school!

 I have never ran with my kids. I think we tried last year, with just two of them in the stroller and didn't get far. I wasn't sure how well we would do today, but figured it's just good to get them out there and thinking about being healthy. Plus, it supports my students being healthy too. The girls decided to start out running, but I wouldn't let Jerry out of the stroller at all. The girls didn't even walk for over half a mile! I was so impressed, I promised them they can run with me a bit over the summer. Gracie is very excited about that idea.

Spring?

Last weekend we got a taste of spring. Unfortunately the next day it snowed.

We had three picnics in one weekend, just because we could.

Preschool Beaded Butterflies

My girls love art projects. Good thing their momma is an art teacher! A couple weeks ago we picked up some beads, pipecleaners, and clothes pins to make these cute butterflies.

AWANA Carnival

Gracie had her AWANA carnival a couple of weeks ago. Families are invited to come too, so Daddy and I brought the littles to celebrate with Gracie and her Cubbie group. Gracie was asked to stay with her group, so Daddy took Jerry and I took Bee. So if it seems like most of the pictures are of Bee, that would be why.
